Parliament and Women in Constitutional Spain

Abstract
The Spanish Parliament, since the approval of the Constitution, has done an important job in order to build equality between men and women. Figures show the growing interest of the Chambers in this policies and the increasing number of women in parliamentary bodies, even though there are still differences between women and men. Spanish society in the 21st century is facing various problems related to women´s issues. Therefore, Parliament challenges to achieve equality are multiple: eradication of violence against women, glass ceiling barriers or gender wage gap, among others.
