El libro trata uno de los temas recurrentes en la Ciencia política de los últimos años, la crisis del estado social, por emplear uno de los múltiples sinónimos que definen el fenómeno, coincidente en todos los países en que se dan una serie de situaciones económicas, sociales y culturales.
