Abstract

The Bureau of the Parliament of Catalonia admitted for processing a popular legislative initiative whose object was the unilateral separation of the Autonomous Community from the rest of Spain. The Constitutional Court, at the request of the Government of the Nation, suspended that agreement as a precautionary measure and subsequently declared it null and void and unconstitutional on the grounds that the initiative sought to reform the Lex legum without respecting the procedure established for that purpose.
