The ICT in the Cortes Generales: Reflections in the 40th Anniversary
Main Article Content
Abstract
A few years after the proclamation of the 1978 Constitution, the first computers arrived at the Cortes Generales. Today it would not be possible to respond to the demands of parliamentary work without the help of information and communication technologies (ICT). During these years, in which innovation in this field has exceeded all expectations, the technological development of the Chambers is in line with that of the Legislative Assemblies of the surrounding countries. This article refers to some of the most significant milestones in the journey from the incorporation of ICT to the Cortes until now. It also provides some reflections on experiences and issues to consider in the way forward.
