Abstract
After a brief review of the history of computer science and its most recent milestones, the most important aspects of information technology in the Senate are reviewed since the creation of the Information Technology Directorate on November 25, 1986. It begins by talking about its staff and the organizational structure of the Directorate, with the units that form it and the changes that have occurred in its organizational chart. Afterwards, other issues such as parliamentary management, internal management services, the web page, videos of parliamentary sessions, the intranet, communications and mobile devices, electronic administration, computer security, relations with the Congress of the Deputies and the planning of the work of the Directorate of Information Technology and Communications are studied in depth.
