Abstract
The article describes the long track record of the Directorate of Research and Documentation from 1982 to 2007 and after that, the Directorate for Documentation, Library and Archives as part of the General Secretariat of the Spanish Parliament. It covers its performance and the changes that have happened during the last forty years in the Units of Documentation, Library and Archives as well as the digital transition.
