Main Article Content
Abstract
From the hand of the biography made by Santos Juliá and from the complete works of Manuel Azaña he edited, this essay analyzes the key ideas of political thought of Manuel Azaña: the renewal of the liberal tradition that he made; his defence of the democratic state as an instrument for the transformation of the society; its military and religious policy; his conception of the political autonomy of Catalonia as autonomous state precedent; and his vision of the educational role of the state.
